Langstaff

Case Study

This design delivers a crisp, contemporary backyard layout that feels open and organized, with the pool acting as the central axis and the hardscape extending outward in clean, usable planes. A consistent paver field ties the upper terrace to the water’s edge, creating a seamless transition from the home to the outdoor lounge and entertaining areas.

The composition is anchored by a simple rectangular pool with an integrated spa, keeping the geometry sharp and the sightlines clear from the main living spaces. Layered evergreens and soft flowering massing wrap the perimeter for privacy and depth, while low landscape lighting and subtle waterline illumination keep the space calm and inviting after dark. A secondary structure off to the side adds balance to the overall scene, helping the yard read as a complete outdoor “room” rather than just a pool on a lawn.
