Case Study

This project is designed as a quiet, architectural retreat where clean geometry and natural surroundings do the heavy lifting. A compact, rectilinear pool anchors the outdoor space, positioned to capture long views into the wooded backdrop while keeping the experience intimate and uncluttered.

The focal point is the raised pool with a full perimeter overflow effect, creating a continuous, glassy water edge that spills into a recessed catch basin and adds motion without extra “features.” Broad-format paving, stacked-stone retaining walls, and terraced steps organize the grade changes, while integrated planters and low landscape lighting soften the hardscape and guide circulation. The result is a simple, elevated composition that feels modern, calm, and intentionally framed by the landscape.
